Today I bought a new Dell Vostro 1015 laptop and after buying it I found a really frustrating thing in this model. The volume of sound was very low and it was not just low but it has single speaker. So for me that was something which is a big problem. I don't like using head phones so for me even skype chat is a problem on this computer.

Anyways at first I google this issue and found most of the buyers has the same problem and no body could get any relief. I was frustrated but then I thought of trying to reinstall the Conexant drivers. But that also didn't work.

Then finally I did the following which solved the issue and now it is giving normal sound. You can also try the same may be this will give you some relief.

Step 1 - Right click on "Computer" icon on your desktop.
Step 2 - Click on "Device manager" listed on the left side panel.
Step 3 - Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers".
Step 4 - Right click on whatever device is mentioned under it and choose "Uninstall". If it asks for permission then click "Okay".
Step 5 - Now restart your computer and windows will automatically install High Definition Audio drivers.

Now your sound will be as loud as other Dell Vostro models have.

For me more surprising thing is why this Dell Vostro 1015 has single speaker. Nowadays every silly laptop comes with excellent sound but Dell is not bothered about it at all specially with Vostro rang. Anyways may be one day they'll wake up.
